GIOVANNI CAVAZZON was born in Luino (Varese) in 1938. He spent his childhood moving from one Italian province to another because of his father’s work until 1953 when they settled in Parma. Here Giovanni was awarded the title Maestro of Art in stagecraft in 1960. Once he became a teacher he moved to Friuli in 1967. Since then he has been a constant presence in the field of art in the region and has received great public and critical acclaim. A dedicated teacher, he has been active in several cultural circles where he teaches the history of portraiture even in conjunction with shows such as “A face of the twentieth century: the Zanini collection”. For his skill as a refined portraitist he has been awarded the title “citizen of the world for his depth and knowledge of human feelings”. The design and color of his works possess a seductive power all of their own. He depicts modern society’s current psychological and architectural environments with extreme precision, which is developed predominantly through the study of the female figure. His cycles of Venus and the Bacchantes are of particular interest. Giovanni Cavazzon has participated in several important art shows in Italy and worldwide. Proof of this are the many works present in Europe, Japan and the United States as well as in private collections and prestigious Italian public institutions such as the Diocesan Museum of S.Apollonia Sacred Art in Venice (The Last Supper), the Sanctuary of S.Pietro and S.Maria della Pace in Marzolara in the province of Parma (Crucifixion and Trinity), The Cormòns producers’ cellar (Bacchante, on a 18th century barrel), the Zanini collection (Portrait of Germana) and the Carnera Museum in Sequals (PN) (Homage to Primo Carnera).
