"Ink and nib"
Art
has always been one of the basic work elements for the company I
represent. It is thanks to art that a writing instrument can be
transformed into something else, into something sublime and
capable of stirring the mystery of the emotive strings deep within
us.
The nib is the heart of the fountain pen. It is a live
object, particularly sensitive to the human factor, just like a
reed to a woodwind instrument. As fluid as breathing, ink leaves
an accurate trace of our essence. So if we read a manuscript by
Ernest Hemingway we can perceive his state of mind at the time he
wrote it.
One can also draw using a nib as Giovanni Cavazzon
shows us allowing his sense of creativity and humanity to pour out
onto a blank sheet of paper which, by its very nature, is devoid
of any filter. And to this touch of humanity, he adds a rare and
refined stroke of mastery.
The person who uses a nib to
write also knows how to enjoy time’s subtle pleasures; those few
suspended seconds needed for the ink to dry. So it makes sense to
pause, and cherish the pleasure beauty brings us. It is not the
beauty in itself but the one the artist emanates, when turning a
landscape or a gaze into a universal experience which we can all
identify with.
I share Giovanni Cavazzon’s analytical
rigour, his tireless will in perfecting an idea until it is ready
to be made public. In other words, I share his search for that
delicate balance of matrices that undoubtedly leads to excellence.
